Louise P- 'Beneath the Apple blossom Tree....'- March 11'
Louise was married this March on a lovely, (if not a little windy, great for the pics though!) at the medieval hall by Salisbury Cathedral. She wore an original design, with the corset and jacket in purple shot silk, with apple blossom and butterfly embroidery on the front and Apple blossom tree on the back, along with Microscope and artists pallet, personal to Louise. With a full gathered ball gown skirt in antique ivory silk with medium train.

The above official pics have been kindly supplied by Louise's photographer, credits to follow.

Subtle embroidery was made for the bottom of the train, as the Groom, a Scientist and the Bride an Artist, a microscope and pallet were chosen to represent the couple.

Made to compliment Louise's outfit were some wire work butterfly hair pins, a garter and boots in the same fabric. Louise also done great job of making her own necklace!

The tree on the back of the jacket was based on a real tree from their garden, of which the engagement ring was tied to....

Removable draped sleeves also made for when the jacket is off.

'Dear Janice,
thank you so much for coming on Saturday to dress me and join in.
It was such a truly amazing day.
Most people had pretty much sussed that I'd have purple involved somewhere,
but the nature of the gown and the detail involved knocked them for six! Including
my husband, who didn't notice the tree on the back until we were signing the
register. He said that just blew him away.
All through the day everyone wanted a closer look and wanted to find out the
stories behind all of the pieces of embroidery.
Phil absolutely loved it, he particularly loved the tree, apple blossom and
of course his microscope! All the crazy ideas came together beautifully and
left me with an incredibly personal dress.
I think every bride on your website says this, but so many folks said "That's
the most amazing wedding dress I've ever seen"
When we were driving into the Cathedral close I couldn't believe the amount
of people coming right up to the car and taking photographs. It was even better
when we walked over to the cloisters and could hear comments- " I want
that dress", "That's so beautiful where did you get it", "I've
never seen a bride look so amazing"...I could go on.
I think the personal touches made it what it was, I looks incredible from
a distance but even better close up. I've only seen a few photographs so far,
they look incredible.
Plenty of people could not believe the level of detail and the quality of
the work, the finish of the gown is perfect. I will treasure it always, and
perhaps try to put it on each year for our anniversary!
I kept my dress on until 2.30am! One of my evening guests said "I guess
you're looking forward to not being in a corset tomorrow". "Not
at all", I told her "It feels like I'm being held; not breathing
in or being suffocated, its incredibly comfortable". I sang a few songs
at my reception, and I have one of the those voices that you belt out - you
can't do that in a restrictive dress. My dress was so well made that it held
me in, gave me a smooth silhouette, but allowed me to run about, sing, and
dance all night. Incredible.
I have genuinely loved every minute of this process.
Coming up to your studio with Mum and Dad for the fittings was a joy not a
chore. Getting all the different emails from you with photos of the embroidery
and added extras just made it even more fun.
Its been so nice getting to know you, and I'll keep checking your website
for future creations.
I've written something for
you too, in more detail, explaining the process and why its so worth the money.
I don't regret it at all. If I did my weddng all over again, the dress would
be exactly the same!
Thank you so much Janice, you are a very talented artist and craftswomen.
You take a pride in your work, but understand how personal a wedding dress
should be. I'm so glad I came to you last summer, "just to see",
because I had my perfect dress and my perfect day.
A friend posted on my facebook page. "The Oxford English dictionary has
updated its definition of 'perfect'; it now includes "See Phil and Lou's
wedding day".
You are so much a part of that day because you made me the perfect wedding
dress. I have never felt so beautiful and yet so comfortable all at the same
time.
You're amazing.
