Below, the start of, 'Purple Berry Crush', new for 2008. A rich berry coloured velvet and gold organza.In its basic state, awaiting beading, and of course, a skirt and jacket....
Sadly this has been on hold for a few months, due to the busy schedule, but is aiming for completion in the next few months...watch this space!
Oasis- Dragonfly- Plus size sample.
Also aiming for completion over the next few months is a Dragonfly variation.....you may think , enough Dragonflies..., but as the sample from 2005 was so popular, the sample is now looking pretty worn out, so the plan was to do anther re make of that sample for trying on in the showroom.....but as usual, so many ideas, and so little time, I discovered this amazing shot chiffon, that I couldn't put down until I had used it in some way, and this beautifully pale aqua crepe that I have been planning to use for a different sample when I got a chance....
Put them together, and decided to do a dragonfly sample, but in a plus size, 18-22, as Uptight does its best to have as many sizes as possible to try on, in various styles....So in the combination of the above the New Oasis Dragonfly has been started,the plan is for the same flowing sleeves as the original, and with addition of a longer style jacket, along the lines of Abi from the real brides section, but this is really dependant on time constraints....as this year is very much fully booked with client gowns, this, and the above berry design, may be a while in coming, that and the weather, red berries is still awaiting a proper shoot....as soon as the sun appears, but who knows, as last year was a total wash out in that respect...
